Be among the first to celebrate in the Museum's new Stewart Sculpture Garden as the Springville Museum of Art hosts the 43rd Annual Art Ball "The Enchanted Garden: Art is Growing." With the support and concentrated efforts of many, the vision of the garden will unfold as it is enjoyed for the anticipated evening. The Art Ball will celebrate the sculpture garden opening to the public for the first time.
Highlights of the evening will include; the 85th Annual Spring Salon Exhibition, the traditional crowning of the Art Royalty, entertainment, and fine dining catered by A Vikings Feast. Utah Musix Quartet and vocalist Carole Turcotte will also entertain guests with their talent and creativity late into the night.
As an aesthetic and educational extension of the Museum, the garden will display selections from the Museum's collection of 243 works of sculpture. Measuring 24,000 square feet, the Mediterranean-style garden consists of a covered Grand Entrance, the Smoot Pavilion, the Children's Garden, and Central Garden. The focal point of the garden as seen upon walking through the colonnaded Grand Entrance, is Museum founder Cyrus Dallin's "Spirit of Life" sculpture. The Garden is named after Sam & Diane Stewart, whose vision and ongoing support have made the dream for a lovely garden space celebrating art and inviting meditation, a reality.
The Garden is made possible by the generosity of many individuals and organizations, such as Sam & Diane Stewart, Utah County Commission, Springville City, Clyde Companies, Doug & Marian Smoot, Utah Families Foundation, Child Enterprises, Neways International and Phillips Plaster. The greenscape design and implementation has been a large collaborative effort of Springville resident Linda Priest, Denise Boyer, and many others who have given key advice and help including Dr. Adrian Hinton and local garden guru Larry Sager.
Be the first to enjoy the new Stewart Sculpture Garden! Attend the 43rd Annual Art Ball and enjoy stunning art, delicious food, talented musicians and dancing under the stars. Tickets are $25 per person in advance, and $35 per person at the door. Springville High School students and current Spring Salon artists may purchase discounted tickets at the Museum. Tickets will be available in April at the Museum and online at http://www.smofa.org/.
